Youth groups can ride on one of our regularly scheduled departures, or we can arrange the operation of a special train for groups that are larger than 30 passengers. During the Late Spring – Summer and Early Autumn, our excursion train is equipped with “open-air” cars that allow for wide views of the mountains along the railroad. Often Bald-Eagles or Blue Herons can be seen in the East Branch of the Delaware River as the train rolls north in the Catskill Mountains. Trip lengths can be arranged for a shorter 1-1⁄2 hour trip to Halcottsville or 2-1⁄2 hour trip to Roxbury. If you are chartering your own special trains, we can arrange for longer layovers in the historic town of Roxbury, New York. Make sure to bring along your camera and be ready to photograph beavers and other wildlife and birds that live along the river.
