The Delaware & Ulster Railroad

Round trips are 24 miles between Arkville, NY and Roxbury, NY and take  approximately two hours to complete.

On board our train you will pass rural hamlets, farmland and historic sites such as the Hubbell Family Farm in Kelly Corners and the Round Barn in Halcottsville. Much of the trip parallels one of the country’s finest trout streams, the East Branch of the Delaware River.

The grade traveled by the train is relatively flat, but the gorgeous Catskill Mountains frame the tracks for much of the trip, completing the magnificent backdrop.

The excursion operates on Saturdays and Sundays with trains departing from the Arkville station at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Riders can then enjoy the pleasures of a Catskill Mountain summer with the train’s motion creating a cooling breeze for those opting to ride in the open-air cars. During cool or wet weather we reserve the right to operate our Streamliner to provide for a friendlier On Board experience for our passengers.

The September and October rides present some of the most popular trips as visitors bask in the glow of unparalleled fall foliage splendor.
